MARIO RAMOS - Lifetime Cannabis Advocate
Mario is the proud owner of retail cannabis licenses in New York City and New Jersey.
From his roots in the Bario to helping build High Times Magazine, Mario has been a people person in the thick of the streets, the life and the purple haze – which saved his life more than once.
Today Mario is as excited as ever to share and advocate for the magic plant and surrounded by a team dedicated to using the most visible platforms possible to advocate for the reformation of outdated drug laws and the liberation of those still incarcerated due to nonviolent cannabis-related offenses. His story is a testament to the power of resilience and the unwavering pursuit of a more equitable and just society.
In the contemporary landscape of New York City, cannabis advocacy has taken center stage, framed by the implementation of CAURD licenses and the evolving cannabis industry. These licenses represent a pivotal development in the ongoing effort to rectify the historical injustices perpetuated by the War on Drugs. As a result, passionate advocates are diligently working to ensure that marginalized communities, who bore the brunt of cannabis-related criminalization, are granted equitable access and opportunities within the cannabis market. In parallel, there is a growing commitment to promoting responsible and sustainable cannabis practices as the industry matures, addressing environmental concerns. The intersection of advocacy initiatives and government policies marks a significant stride toward establishing a more inclusive and environmentally-conscious cannabis sector in the heart of the Big Apple.
